Recurrent Pregnancy Loss (RPL)

Home > Specialty > Recurrent Pregnancy Loss (RPL)

Recurrent Pregnancy Loss (RPL) is defined as two or more consecutive pregnancy losses before 20 weeks. It can be emotionally devastating, but medical science today offers clear pathways to evaluation and treatment. RPL may occur due to chromosomal problems in the embryo, hormonal imbalances, uterine abnormalities, autoimmune conditions, clotting disorders, infections, and lifestyle factors. A healthy pregnancy can happen in most of the women with RPL with personalised care, monitoring, and evidence-based treatment
