About Dr. Sameer Desai
Dr. Sameer Desai is a Consultant Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon with extensive training and experience in managing orthopedic conditions in children. His medical journey began in June 1995, completing his MBBS from B.J. Medical College, Pune in January 2000. During his MBBS, he excelled in Anatomy and Surgery, receiving Gold Medals and ranking first in Poona University in the first year. Inspired by his uncle, Dr. Ashok Desai, a renowned orthopedic surgeon in Pune, he developed an early interest in Orthopedics.
He pursued post-graduation in Orthopedics at J.J. Hospital and Grant Medical College, Mumbai, under the guidance of Dr. A.N. Johari, a leading Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon. His thesis focused on ‘Etiology and Management in Recurrent Clubfoot’, which laid the foundation for his specialization in Pediatric Orthopedics. After completing his MS in Orthopedics, he joined Wadia Children’s Hospital, Mumbai as a registrar in Pediatric Orthopedics, gaining extensive experience in treating complicated cases and understanding the challenges faced by underprivileged children.
Dr. Desai further advanced his expertise through international fellowships in Pediatric Orthopedics at Seoul, Korea with Prof. H.R. Song and Prof. Lee, followed by a fellowship in Cerebral Palsy and Gait Laboratory under Prof. Kerr Graham at Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia. Upon returning to India, he joined leading hospitals in Pune as a Consultant Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon, offering advanced care using the latest techniques in the field.
